Trinidad Lake Asphalt, (TLA) the material of choice
for the road pavement construction industry throughout many nations of the world , is
mined and processed by Lake Asphalt of Trinidad and Tobago (1978) Limited, a wholly owned
State Company which has been involved in the Mining and Distribution of Road Building
Material for over a Century. The Company is located in La Brea, Trinidad overlooking the
famous "Pitch Lake" reputably discovered by Sir Walter Raleigh some four hundred
years ago in 1595
In recent years the Company has developed a range of Paints and Coatings incorporating TLA and known as the LASCO range of products
In November 1996, the Company pioneered the manufacture of Cationic Bitumen Emulsions in the Caribbean with the construction of a state of the art, fully automated plant which now produces Emulsions for the Local, Regional and International Markets.
